|
There are numerous
hidden features in Moorhuhn 3.
|
|
Where
are the Chickens?
At the start
of the game, there is not a Moorland Chicken to be seen. Fire five
quick shots to get them to appear. |
|
Heart
Attack
If you shoot
just in front of a flying Chicken, it will change direction. If you
repeat this process four times, the chicken will have a heart attack and
die. You get double points for this. |
|
Hare
and Hedgehog
The Hare
and the Hedgehog will appear together three times during the game.
When this happens, shoot the Hare first to get 25 points as usual.
However, the Hedgehog is now worth 100 points.
If you
shoot the Hare with exactly 31 seconds left on the clock and then shoot
the Hedgehog, you will get the same points bonus but the message RACE
OVER will also appear and the clock will slow down for the final 30
seconds of the game. |

|
Hare
and Hedgehog, Part Two
The Hare
and the Hedgehog will appear together three times during the game.
To get
them to appear a fourth time, follow these steps.
1.
Shoot the Hare as usual with 31 seconds left in the game.
2.
Shoot the Hut on the cliff. You will lose 25 points as usual, but
10 extra seconds
will be added to the game clock.
3.
When the game clock returns to the 31 second mark, the animals should appear
again.
(Thanks
to Wojtek Marciniec for contributing to this tip)
|
|
Hare
and Hedgehog, Part Three
The Hare
and the Hedgehog will appear together three times during the game.
Another
way of getting them to appear a fourth time is as follows:
1.
Shoot the Hare as usual with 31 seconds left in the game.
2.
Shoot the pollen to obtain the MOORTIME
message.
3.
When the game clock returns to the 31 second mark, the animals should appear
again.
(Thanks
to Igor Puskas for contributing to this tip)

|
|
Hare
and Hedgehog, Part Four
The Hare
and the Hedgehog will appear together three times during the game.
Another
way of getting them to appear a fourth time is as follows:
1.
Shoot
the first two or three leaves towards obtaining the ANTICLOCK
message.
2.
Shoot the Hare as usual with 31 seconds left in the game.
3.
Finish shooting the leaves for the ANTICLOCK message.
4.
When the game clock returns to the 31 second mark, the animals should appear
again.
(Thanks
to Igor Puskas for contributing to this tip)

|
Match
the Woodpecker
Through
the game, the Woodpecker pecks away at the tree. If you count the
number of pecks and then shoot the tree just in front of the Woodpecker's
beak the same number of times, bonus points are awarded.
Shots must not be more than a second apart.
Bonus
points are calculated as follows: 10 points + twice the number of pecks.
For example, if the Woodpecker pecks the tree three times your score for
matching that would be 10 + (2 x 3) = 16 points. |
|
The
Hunter
In addition
to appearing when you shoot the Hut
on the Cliffs, shooting the Lighthouse
and the Picnic
Blanket will also cause the Hunter to join the game. A red cross
hairs will appear on the screen and the Hunter will specifically target
the Lesshuhn to cost you points.
(Thanks
to Scott Robertson for contributing to this tip)
|
|
Move
the Pollen
The pollen
can be driven to any desired part of the screen by shooting next to them.
(Thanks
to Dan Costenco for contributing to this tip)

Leaf
Mysteries Expanded
There is
some rhyme and reason to shooting the leaves. There are exactly 27
leaves on the tree, one for each letter of the alphabet plus an exclamation
point.
In order
to get a message to appear, you need to shoot 7 leaves. The
key to determining what message will display seems to correspond to the
first three leaves you shoot. For example, you will see the message
TIME
AND MOOR if you shoot 7 leaves, beginning with U-O-N. So,
whether you shoot leaves U-O-N-A-X-T-C or U-O-N-B-K-H-G, you will receive
this same message.
Some
of the other leaf combinations include:

Leaf
Mysteries Expanded Further
As indicated
above, in order to get a message to appear you need to shoot 7 leaves.
The key to determining what message will display may correspond to the
letter of third leaf that you shoot (for example, U-O-N-A-X-T-C or B-T-N-X-C-D-F
would be the same). Following this logic, the messages associated
with each letter would be as follows:
| Letter |
Message |
| A |
GIMMEAMMO |
| B |
TIMEOUT |
| C |
-100 |
| D |

Upgrade
Your Ammunition, Part One
There are
5 rocks, and if you shoot all of them you will upgrade your ammunition
and be able to get bonus points. Reloading will now cost you a 7
point deduction each time, however. |
|
Upgrade
Your Ammunition, Part Two
If you shoot
10 fish you will upgrade your ammunition and be able to get bonus points.
This ammunition looks the same as normal bullets and you still receive
the normal 5 point deduction for reloading, but you can use these shells
to sink the Fishing Boat. |
|
1A
Ammunition
If you shoot
10 fish and then shoot three Chickens rapidly so that the TRIPLE HIT
message appears, you will receive one clip of the green 1A ammunition. |
|
Flock
of Chickens
If you shoot
the Lighthouse
three times, in addition to earning the standard 50 points you will also
release a flock of 25 point chickens. Shooting this flock makes it
easy to obtain the TRIPLE HIT bonus needed to upgrade your
ammunition.
(Thanks
to Royce Smith and Del Texley for this tip)
|
|
Sink
the Boat
If you shoot
the boat on the shore 5 times, it will drift out into the water.
Once you have upgraded your ammunition, shoot it three more times to sink
it and earn
50 points. |
|
Topple
the Fur Tree
There is
a fur tree located to the left of the 'Quam' logo on the cliff. If
you shoot this with normal ammunition, you will receive
25 points. Downing
the tree with upgraded ammunition will earn 50 points
and the green 1A ammunition will earn 100 points. |
|
Cave
Paintings
Shoot the
moss on the far right rocks to expose cave paintings and earn 50
points. |
|
Fish
Killer
If you shoot
five fish, the message FISH KILLER appears. No bonus points are
awarded, however. |
|
Fish
N' Ships Killer
There are
two ways to sink the Fishing Boat. If you shoot it once with the
green 1A ammunition you will receive the message FISHERMEN'S END.
If you shoot it 10 times with upgraded shells received by shooting 10 fish,
the message FISH N' SHIPS KILLER will appear. Either approach
earns 200 points. |
|
Marzipan
Once you
have upgraded to the green 1A ammunition, wait for the
Turtle
to emerge from its shell and shoot it to receive the
message
MARZIPAN
and gain 50 points. |
|
Roasted
Chicken
Once you
have the green 1A ammunition, shoot the thunderclouds to the far right
of the screen above the hunter's cottage to electrocute all of the Moorland
Chickens on the screen.
(Thanks
to Dan Costenco for contributing to this tip)
|
|
Moorhuhnfreund
Bonus points
can be obtained for warm-hearted hunters who aren't inclined to shoot the
flying chickens. If no more than 4 chickens are shot during game
play, the message MOORHUHNFREUND will display and you will gain
250
points. It is okay to shoot any of the ground targets
and the Lesshuhn.
(Thanks
to Ciocan Alexandru for contributing to this tip)
|
|
Moorfrosch
The Moorland
Frog is very challenging to kill. To do so, follow
these
steps:
1.
Shoot
5 rocks to upgrade
your ammunition.
2.
Shoot
the Lurking Chicken.
3.
Shoot
the Shark.
4.
Shoot
10 Fish and 3
flying
chickens to obtain the 1A ammunition.
5.
Shoot the Turtle.
6.
Shoot
the Woodpecker
7.
Shoot
7 leaves.
8.
With
31 seconds left, shoot the Hare
and then the Hedgehog.
You can
now shoot the Frog. Please note: we have yet to successfully
test this tip, so if we have missed something please let us know. |
|
Bonus
Time
If you shoot
the Hut on the cliff, you lose 25 points but receive 10 extra seconds of
game time.
(Thanks
to Iva Adamovska for contributing to this tip)
|
|
Bonus
Time, Part 2
Once you
hear the game clock begin ticking away the final 10 seconds of play, if
you shoot the clock you can add 1 second of time for each bullet you fire
without reloading (up to 12 seconds).
(Thanks
to James A. Dean and Maciej Jakubowski for contributing to this tip)
|
|
Bonus
Time, Part 3
If you shoot
the picnic blanket in the final 5 seconds of play, in addition to receiving
50 points instead of the usual 10, you will also receive 5 extra seconds
of game time.
(Thanks
to Frank for contributing to this tip)
|
|
Turn
on the lights
If you shoot
the Hut on the cliff 10 times, the lights will come on. After doing
this, if you shoot the middle window four times you will shatter
the lights and gain 50 points.
(Thanks
to James A. Dean for contributing to this tip)
|
|
Hidden
Treasure
If you shoot
the tree the far left, three pieces of bark will come
off
that reveal a treasure map. The three symbols indicate the location
of hidden caves in the game, and the 'X' marks the cave which holds hidden
Moorhuhn gold.
These
caves must be opened by using the green 1A ammunition to shoot the rocks
in a specific pattern. When the gold is revealed, shoot it
to receive a TREASURE BONUSES message and a 200 point
bonus.
Click
on the following images to reveal the locations of the treasure caves,
and outline the shooting patterns required to open them:

|
|
Moortris
While on
the Moorhuhn 3 splash screen, if you shoot each letter of the title (M-O-O-R-H-U-H-N)
a Moorland Chicken version of the classic Tetris game will appear. |
|
Stop
the Clock
If you shoot
the game clock with the green 1A Ammunition, the "glass" in front of it
will break, and the clock will stop. You
can
move freely during this time, but once you shoot again the clock will restart.
(Thanks
to Ciocan Alexandru for contributing to this tip)
|
 |
Break
the Tree
You can
break the far left and far right branches of the tree if you shoot them
with the upgraded ammunition that you receive after shooting all the rocks.
Once you do this, two additional bullets will be added to your gun. Note:
the branches will break even if you don't shoot all the leaves.
(Thanks
to Ciocan Alexandru for contributing to this tip)
|
|
Balloon
Hunter
Occasionally,
if you shoot between four and six of the balloons, the message BALLOON
HUNTER will appear and you will earn 125 points.
However, this bonus appears sporadically during the game (sometimes you
can shoot six balloons and receive no bonus) and may be related to the
type of ammunition being used.
(Thanks
to Ciocan Alexandru for contributing to this tip)
|

|
Shoot
the Shark
Once you
have shot the shark, the fish will jump slower and will be easier to shoot.
(Thanks
to Gunnar Kári for contributing to this tip)
|
|
Chickens
Behind the Hut
If you shoot
the hut on the cliff, you'll scare few extra chickens who are hidingbehind
it. Use caution, though, because sometimes Lesshuhn's hide behind
the hut as well.
(Thanks
to Reda El Khayyat for contributing to this tip)
|
|
Lighthouse
and Heavy Metal
When you
shoot the pollen to obtain the HEAVY METAL
message, shoot the lighthouse to scare out a large number of chickens.
Each
chicken will take three shots to kill, but each will be worth
50 points.
(Thanks
to Igor Puskas for contributing to this tip)
|
|
"Moorhuhn
Killer" Bonus Points
If you shoot
over 50 chickens during the course of the game, the message "MOORHUHN
KILLER" will appear and you will earn an extra 100 points.
(Thanks
to Igor Puskas for contributing to this tip)
